The requirement says XP so can it work on Vista? So far it hasn't worked
What happen when you run the application? Does it close immediately?
If yes, then you need to install the .net 3.5 framework.
Vista comes with the 2.0 version only.
Well, I added installed the .net framework, and now it shows up, but I can't add any icons to it. Then when I right click it to try to add things to it, it says that it stops working.
SliderDock does not support system files like my document, recycle bin, and my computer which doesn't have an address.
Other icons should work fine though.
i have a question. how do u add more icon into it? cuz i added one and thats all i can add.
you have to drag and drop onto the iconSeeker(it is the main icon, the biggest one with blue background)
Oooo scratch that, it works now XD just need to reopen it instead of opening from the installer XD
Yeah… for those of us who do NOT have a scrolly thingy on our mouses, would you please add a function for us to access the programs without having to click the scrolling button. Thank you!
I will add keyboard shortcut then, but you can always right click and then select run on an icon.
With the iconSeeker, just double click it.
HI! I recently sent you a PM on your youtube account, :D I am the one that asked about you adding sound to this program to make it feel more like G.U.. ooooo please add sounds in next version please please please!
Hi,
I might add the sound in the third release, but I'll need to organize the code first and do some research on how to implement sound in the application.
Right now there is too much to improve in the second release to work on the sound.
So this is the second release? I love it though, I totally customized my computer to best of my knowledge to fit the part!
Oh um, I definitely want to talk to you directly somehow lol, like an IM or somethin!
Also, what are you using to code? Are you using Flash or is it Visual Studio? :D Which Language?
This is the first release, I'm still working on the second one.
.net have a few language in it but the main ones are visual basic and c#.
I use c# and the reason SliderDock need .net 3.5 is because it is the only .net framework which have WPF.
WPF is basically for making application that use the graphics card for a speed boost.
I am also trying to learn XNA, it is a part of c# focus to make games on windows and xbox360.
I made a MSN account, and I found a nice app called digsby, which is apparently the best IM app and can support all others type of IM account.
Though when I search for myself in MSN, I get no result.
so what are some of the other features that are going to be in the next one?
will it have the option to organize the files?
Right now I added a log file support, so if an error happen, everything will be in a txt file.
I am also working on changing the ring size and icons size, and trying to find an easy way to save the configuration to a xml file.
After this, I intend to add customizations for keyboard shortcuts and enabling the changes of the icons background, and the iconSeeker look.
If possible I will add an option to organize the icons in this version too. This is quite high in my list of change to SliderDock, but it will depend on how much information I can get on this.
I was messing with it when I just installed and found a small error. If you right click and click on "icon settings" with any icons in there, it crashes. No big crash, just a shut-down.
(P.S. - this thing is awesome!)
**without any icons
(sorry bout that)
Someone else also reported this error, this happens only the first time you run SliderDock.
Normally, if there isn't any icons, you shouldn't be able to see "icon settings" and "remove" options.
I already fixed this error for the next version.
Most of my folders have customized icons and yet they all appear as ordinary folders except for the programs…
which appear as the ordinary programs icons…
For now the code in SliderDock cannot retrieve icons folder, but in a future release I will try to improve this.
If you have the original icon image you can always change the icon in "icon settings" option, just click on the icon image there.
Just out of curiousity, what would happen if i did download the .net framework 3.5 sp1? and is there a way to delete the slider dock once your download and install it? i mean if i had downloaded it and ran it how do i get rid of it and return my computer to its original state?
oh and please send me an e-mail with your answers to my questions. thank you.
The .net setup which is 2.5MB will download the whole .net framework or if you already have some of the framework, will download the missing files needed.
You can uninstall SliderDock with the add or remove program.
Same goes for the .net framework but to uninstall it you 'll need to start from the latest one, the 3.5sp1 then 3.0 up to 2.0.
But uninstalling .net might make some program stop working if they need it to run.
As for sending you an email, I would need your email address first.
But generally it's a bad idea to post your email in a forum or comment area of a website as many bots scans them for email addresses to send spam.
If you wish you can use www.yopmail.com for a temporary email without being afraid of receiving spam in your main mail. Just tell me which name you chose on your next question.
for the yopmail you told me about. i chose moc.liampoy|96suracI#moc.liampoy|96suracI
i did the 3.5 download i set it up but when i open it up i get the icon seeker however there is this big black thing in the middle of my screen and it deos not work
