Sliderdock crashes whenever I press a button as a shortcut. It doesn't crash when I use my mouse scroll to move it, but when my mouse passes over an icon not in the main orb (the one that highlights your selection) it crashes from that. Please help, thanks.

Please check the errorlog.txt file created in your SliderDock installation folder to know why this happen and post it back here.
maybe crash was the wrong word to use. It "stops responding" as windows puts it. I couldn't find the errorlog.txt file you're speaking of, but this is what was in the description of the problem. I hope this helps since this is the only thing I was able to find that may tell you the problem.
A problem caused this program to stop interacting with Windows.

Actually after rereading your original post I remembered the cause.
On laptop using intel graphics card, shaders aren't supported causing SliderDock to crash.
I already made a version without those shaders active but I haven't released it yet because there's other part I'm working on that are not stable yet.
But does this apply if sliderdock didn't crash before? I've been using your application for 4 months but this started happening recently.
If it was working before, then it cannot be this.
Maybe try to delete the config.xml file found in c:/user/"your name"/appdata/local/SliderDock/
This will reset SliderDock's option.(It will keep the icons as they are stored in the save.bin file in the same folder).
It's possible that something was changed in the options that isn't supported on your computer but if it isn't the shaders as you said this was working fine for 4 months, then I don't know what else would cause incompatibility.
No dice. Thanks for the help you offered though. I guess i'll restrict myself to use my mouse scroll and stay on the same ring without it crashing xD
The one thing you can do is download the portable version from this website, copy the save.bin file into the portable data folder and see if it crash.
If it does, the errorlog should be created in the data folder.
I think the reason you didn't see an errorlog file was because originally SliderDock was made on xp, but windows 7 doesn't allow creation of files inside the "program files" folder.
One thing though, you can't run the portable at the same time as the installed one. So you'll need to first close the install one.
In the next version I will move the errorlog in the document folder.
I could not find save.bin file inside the slider dock folder, but the portable version works fine! I'll update this again if I run into any problems, but thank you for helping me! :)
sorry, i just can't seem to find it. I think the problem is that I don't have a save.bin file. Is that what creates the error log? If so then it doesn't come with sliderdock when I download it. both portable and regular
The save.bin file is used only to reload the icons once you launch SliderDock.
The errorLog.txt file is created inside the Data folder when the application crash.
Do you have the portable SliderDock folder on your Desktop?
If you put it within the "program files" folder, then windows 7 stop it from creating any file within that folder.
No, it was in my documents folder, but i put it out on the desktop just in case. I ran the program and crashed it, but there is still no errorlog.txt file in the data folder. Only:
SD (configuration settings)
Thanks for the info.
That's very strange. The last thing I could think of is to try to turn off your firewall temporarily to test if maybe an update to it is blocking something in SliderDock, especially if it's like comodo defence+, has nothing to do with internet connection but basically block part of an appliciation working.
nope, didn't work. Tried crashing it again with the firewall off to see if it let me create the file and it didn't. I'll try running some antivirus scans to see if that helps. Can errors on my registry cause any problems with sliderdock?
Well this is probably a lost cause. I appreciate the help you've given me this past week :D. I really enjoy this program, and I'm sure i can live by restricting myself to the mouse wheel.
I found the solution. I had a setting where it would increase the size of text and other user interface. After exceeding 130%, it would crash if I did anything explained before. As long as its below 130% then it should be fine
