This feature that is probably easy to implement would push open doors to new fields of application.

Is it possible to have the dock animated so when the dock pops up, it sort of drops form the top like it does in the game?

The icons wouldn't have to line up at the top, i just think a drop down similar to that would be a great aesthetic.
Also in the video, there's sound, the sliding between icons is a lot more fluid and the icons "Jiggle" a little.
I vaguely heard that audio is a problem and I'm completely okay with there being none, but if there's any possibility i'd love the other features to make my desktop 100% rock :]

I've tried uninstalling 1.20 first before trying to install 1.21, and the result is the same

There is one remaining bug, where SliderDock doesn't accept a drag and drop but I can't find a way to replicate this on my computer and on my friend laptop.
If there is any one with this problem and willing to test the fix, please email me.
I am currently running the fix on my machine so the code is safe, I simply don't know if it actually resolve the problem or simply do nothing.

Next release will be more focused on adding new features such as adding descriptions to each icons and moving the description box around.

I even tried using NumPad4 without any modifier key just to see if it would work and that didn't even work. I should have to restart SliderDock every time the program fails to do its job, which is almost every day since I first changed the global keys (Aug 30, 2011). There are even times that I would switch it back to the default key combinations and it still fails to work. Clearly the program has a problem with an invalid hook handles.
This program is an install, not in portable mode. Version 1.20
Hopefully this will be fixed so the program does NOT have to be [b]restarted[/b] every time it fails do to it's job, as that's only a temporary solution to a constant problem.

I unistalled everything and deleted the profile from appdata folder and nothing, they won't work… as i wish

I mean, i try to set a shortcut, lets say "down + control" and doesnt works, but if i disable the control and i leave it like "down" it works if i hold "down" and then i press and release "control" or "shift", try it, instead of holding "control" and then pressing down do it the other way, hold down and then press control.

System specs:

My operating system: Win7-64 SP2

While working in other applications, the Sliderdock rings change when I use the up and down arrow keys in that application. It seems to happen in any application.

Shortcut Keys set in Sliderdock:
Ctl+Left = rotate icons counter-clockwise
Ctl+Right = rotate icons clockwise
Ctl+Enter = launch an application
*No shortcut keys set for select previous or next ring

Also, on an unrelated note; is it possible to freely move the text/description box from where it is? Due to my desktop background, it looks odd where it is.

I'm using slider dock to manage all my apps, from AppUp for my netbook, and most of the apps I have are arcade style games. The Description area would be more valuable if it allowed you to get more detailed information on the apps such as screenshots, art, and a full description of the application.

Error message is nothing special or helpful.
"SliderDock has stopped working.
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." With single option "Close program".

Re-installation does not solve the problem.

Any suggestions?

But it doesn't seem to show itself on startup unless I do the unhiding.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit.

Problems: Locking it in position it seems fine, but after I reboot, it seems that SliderDock goes into hidden mode and once I call it up again it would be at another position of my screen where I hadn't set it to be. I found the problem also occurs when I've adjusted the position of SliderDock, locked position and hiding it. After I unhide the SliderDock, it goes back to another position.

So I was wondering if the Lock Position Function uses like only locking in current position without saving coordinates or some other methods to lock in place such that after a reboot it'll go to another position. I haven't got the problem with the previous version where the lock function wasn't introduced, the only times that it shifts is that I've accidentally shifted it myself.

Now it's possible to name each ring to easily distinguish them.
There is 3 new option in the right click menu of the IconSeeker.
The first one called "select ring" : like the name implies it let you change the current visible ring by selecting it's name.
The second one is the "Lock SliderDock's position" which disable the ability to move the dock around.
The third one is called "Help" and will simply open a page to the tutroial section of this website.

The option windows has been improved to resize itself in order to show all options available without having to scroll down.
There is now an option that will check for new versions automatically.
In the "appearance" tab previously called theme, there is a new option to select the font type.
The first time it is opened, it is a bit slow to load afterward it will be fast to reopen.
In "Controls" tab, there's a new option called "animation quality".
This option let you choose how smooth the rotations of the icons are.

Dragging an icon and dropping it into another icon will now move the dragged icon next to it's target instead of swapping the icons around.
I believe this will be much better to reorganize the icons.

For advanced user only:

On windows vista and 7, dragging an icon from your desktop into the IconSeeker while holding the "ctrl" button will retrieve the HD icon from the file.

But there is a bug when the icon doesn't possess an HD icon, then it will return a low quality icon in the top left corner of a blank HD icon.

I haven't found a way to correctly retrieve the low quality icon which is the reason for the "ctrl" button.

I can't add icons because I can't drag and drop icons to the sliderdock.

Again, thank you very much for keeping this project ongoing and keeping it free. Also, if this sugestion is taken, might I also requst that unique names be allowed to be given to the dock and eventually having an inner ring which is used strictly for selecting the required ring at a later date.

how come in the main screenshot it shows all the icon rings but in mine, it's just show one? (i already make more than one ring, but it's just shw one ring)

1. I'd love for the program icons to disapear, leaving only the Icon seeker when Slider Dock is not in use. There is no functional purpose for this, but it would make your desktop look cooler.

2. I'd like to see an option to create multiple Icon seekers on the same desktop so that, for example, I could have one for my games and one for my art programs. Now I know you can use the middle mouse button to cycle through multiple rings, and that is cool, but I think it would be neat to have this option if you wanted it.

3. I'd like to see an option to lable different rings…for example, when I select my games ring, "Games" would appear in the center or something like that.

I hope you are able to use some of these ideas.

Also, is there a way to donate here. I'd love to finance this project in some small way.

Well, my problem is when i create a shortcut, and after that i customize the icon for my shortcut (right click, properties, Shortcut, Change Icon) and drag this icon to the icon seeker, the icon is not shown
