2) to change rings, you need to middle mouse click or do you mean rotating the icons?
There is a bug on laptops that make SliderDock behave strangely but this should be fixed with the newest version (v1.22).

3) I'm not sure why this problem happens for you, on my pc it works correctly. Are you sure SliderDock isn't stuck under the browser or does it not appear at all, sometimes always on top can be a bit temperamental and I haven't found a way to fix this yet.

ws.Reputation.1 is not a virus warning but simply an application that have low reputation among norton's user.
My guess for this low rating is that noone voted for SliderDock therefore the lack of rating caused the warning.

I suggest you to scan the download file online just to make sure for yourself.
I tried to scan the file with http://www.viruschief.com/index.html and it return nothing found.
I also personally use avast and of course I use SliderDock myself everyday, so I assure you there is no virus in it.

I come to you with this cause I wanted to let you guys know that someone, preferably a Dev needs to stop by Norton and correct this…

So I don't know. However I am a risk taker but seeing as though I do not want to go through the process of re-installing windows, I will till a reply is made from DEVs only! Sorry for any inconvenience but everything is always better safe than sorry

Let me add some compliments about your work: Here's some of the current features I appreciate the most:
Adjustable ring size and icon size.
The two-dimensional design - multiple, named rings to cycle through.
The convenient information provided while navigating in SliderDock. Such as the title of the current ring popping up and fading out.
Shortcut keys!
Shortcut keys without printable character. I use Ctrl and Alt for cycling through the rings.
Ease of use with drag and drop for adding icons and changing icons order.
High performance and small footprint.
The most toughtful design I've found amongst docks - very clearly laid out and easy to focus.

Your software helps me to do my work more efficiently. I'm recommending it to my colleagues at work, even more emphatically with its increasing versatility I hope to find in v.1.23.

Causes problems? Possibly, yes. Depends on how one uses SliderDock. As an optional feature (or even a per-ring option, or on a hotkey, …) it won't bother those who use rings crowded to the extreme.

People in forums still keep complaining about Windows 7, because there's not decent way of organizing the most used documents anymore. On Windows XP one could arrange the icon in any folder freely like snippets on a desk. SliderDock will be an attractive solution to everyone who needs to work with documents effeciently, once an 'always show tooltips' option is available.

The mouse cursor has always entered the the icon from the top right. Looks tidy to me.

This feature that is probably easy to implement would push open doors to new fields of application.

There is an option in the dock settings to disable this feature.
The option is called : " AutoHide when launching an application" and is found in the general tab.

Otherwise to hide/unhide SliderDock manually, just press ctrl+space (by default).

i have few problem here,
when i doubleclick the icon, the application sudenly hidden.
not crash but hidden, i using win 7 64, and i have installed the netframework 3.5.

can you fix that?

During the installation, receiving a "code 5" error means SliderDock is still in use by window therefore the main file cannot be deleted.
Please close SliderDock before installing the new version.

Though before adding those animation improvements, I prefer to give priority to functionality like adding a way to reorganise the rings order, so those aesthetic upgrades will be for later.

Is it possible to have the dock animated so when the dock pops up, it sort of drops form the top like it does in the game?

The icons wouldn't have to line up at the top, i just think a drop down similar to that would be a great aesthetic.
Also in the video, there's sound, the sliding between icons is a lot more fluid and the icons "Jiggle" a little.
I vaguely heard that audio is a problem and I'm completely okay with there being none, but if there's any possibility i'd love the other features to make my desktop 100% rock :]

I've tried uninstalling 1.20 first before trying to install 1.21, and the result is the same

There is one remaining bug, where SliderDock doesn't accept a drag and drop but I can't find a way to replicate this on my computer and on my friend laptop.
If there is any one with this problem and willing to test the fix, please email me.
I am currently running the fix on my machine so the code is safe, I simply don't know if it actually resolve the problem or simply do nothing.

Next release will be more focused on adding new features such as adding descriptions to each icons and moving the description box around.

Also the keyboard hook hasn't crashed on me even when the computer is under heavy load so the normal shortcut keys will work too.

I'd really like to be able to see Ctrl+Scroll as a usable feature.

The new hook doesn't seem to have any of the problems the current version have.
Because it doesn't have any of the old bugs, I also added all the mouse buttons to the shortcuts options.
But since the mouse wheel (when scrolling up/down) isn't considered a button, I cannot add it the shortcuts, but it will be possible to do ctrl+left click if this is what you desire.
The mouse Xbuttons(for mouses with more than 3 buttons) will also be supported.

Though there isn't a real fix to the current code, I found an alternative way that seems to fix all the problems and to be faster that the original code SliderDock is currently using.

I haven't added the new method to SliderDock yet as I am currently trying to learn how this function but things looks promising right now.

As for the global hook being lost, I was working on it for a few days now.
I might have found a solution so I am now currently testing it.

I was aware of the bug but it is very difficult to reproduce and to me it happened quite rarely.
I tried a few times to fixed it but I was never sure how effective it was.
I am currently working on a project that push the CPU to 100% for prolonged period of time and under this condition the hook always get removed so now that I am able to reproduce the bug, I can test the solution correctly.

I even tried using NumPad4 without any modifier key just to see if it would work and that didn't even work. I should have to restart SliderDock every time the program fails to do its job, which is almost every day since I first changed the global keys (Aug 30, 2011). There are even times that I would switch it back to the default key combinations and it still fails to work. Clearly the program has a problem with an invalid hook handles.
This program is an install, not in portable mode. Version 1.20
Hopefully this will be fixed so the program does NOT have to be [b]restarted[/b] every time it fails do to it's job, as that's only a temporary solution to a constant problem.

I was just about to suggest this. I'm using Windows 7 64 bit sp1 and am having the same problem.

Nice app though, seems to be the only windows 7 compatible circle dock left on the net.

Can you also let us set the position of the info panel too?
