Finally released v1.22.
Sadly one feature that should have been include was left out.
The feature was to make SliderDock stay at the desktop level(always stay behind other windows).
The reason for this is because there was a bug that I wasn't able to fix which make the icons flash when this feature is active.

So until I find a way to make it work correctly this option will not be included. I apologise to those that looked forward to this feature being included.

This release is focused mainly on fixing the remaining bugs.
The hook problem which caused the keyboard or mouse to stop responding in SliderDock is now completely gone.
I also added an option to create blank icon if anyone needs it.

There is one remaining bug, where SliderDock doesn't accept a drag and drop but I can't find a way to replicate this on my computer and on my friend laptop.
If there is any one with this problem and willing to test the fix, please email me.
I am currently running the fix on my machine so the code is safe, I simply don't know if it actually resolve the problem or simply do nothing.

Next release will be more focused on adding new features such as adding descriptions to each icons and moving the description box around.

There was a bug in 1.19 that prevented the previous/next keyboard shortcut to work properly.
This bug was caused because I was trying to improve the way the shortcuts work, but when I noticed it wasn't functionning properly, I reverted back but I must have forgotten to save because it was still there in the last release.
Since I mostly use my mouse to interact with SliderDock, I didn't notice the bug.

I fixed that in 1.20.

V1.19 is out.

it is a minor update mainly made to fix a bug where SliderDock would crash if auto update is on and no internet connection is found.

But beside this, it is now possible to create an icon from a URL link dragged from your web browser to SliderDock.

Also for new users, when launching SliderDock, 4 icons will be loaded by default.
I hope this will alleviate the misunderstanding between creating a new ring and an icon.

This version bring it's share of new features.

Now it's possible to name each ring to easily distinguish them.
There is 3 new option in the right click menu of the IconSeeker.
The first one called "select ring" : like the name implies it let you change the current visible ring by selecting it's name.
The second one is the "Lock SliderDock's position" which disable the ability to move the dock around.
The third one is called "Help" and will simply open a page to the tutroial section of this website.

The option windows has been improved to resize itself in order to show all options available without having to scroll down.
There is now an option that will check for new versions automatically.
In the "appearance" tab previously called theme, there is a new option to select the font type.
The first time it is opened, it is a bit slow to load afterward it will be fast to reopen.
In "Controls" tab, there's a new option called "animation quality".
This option let you choose how smooth the rotations of the icons are.

Dragging an icon and dropping it into another icon will now move the dragged icon next to it's target instead of swapping the icons around.
I believe this will be much better to reorganize the icons.

For advanced user only:

On windows vista and 7, dragging an icon from your desktop into the IconSeeker while holding the "ctrl" button will retrieve the HD icon from the file.

But there is a bug when the icon doesn't possess an HD icon, then it will return a low quality icon in the top left corner of a blank HD icon.

I haven't found a way to correctly retrieve the low quality icon which is the reason for the "ctrl" button.

I've released SliderDock v1.16 which fix a bug where the save path is wrong, therefore SliderDock isn't able to read your save file when you launch it. This occurs only on some computer so I never noticed it before but now it should be fixed and never occurs again.

If any previous version were working for you, this modification shouldn't change anything for you.

Again right now there is only the zip file, I will release the setup a bit later.

You must have noticed, the version system have been changed.
Instead of R15, this version became v1.15. The reason for this is to make it easier for me to check for updates.
Yes now it is possible to check for new updates form SliderDock itself.
Open the "about SliderDock" window and you'll see a new button called "chceck for update".

But this isn't the biggest change at all.
First SliderDock now support multiple rings. It allows you to group your icons any you want.
This will break the compatibility with the old save format, but believe me, it's worth it.
You can go to the tutorial section to learn more about it.

Then there's also an improvement on the portable mode, when SliderDock is on a memory stick and on the same drive you have your other portable application, dragging them into SliderDock will give them a relative target.
This will allow SliderDock to launch your portable apps even when the memory stick drive letters changes.

Now SliderDock have improved support for all virtual folder. SliderDock should be compatible with all icons now.

The method to save an icon image have been imrpoved to not lose quality anymore.

And there much more.
Like always all changes can be found in the "change log" page.

For now I've added only the zip file, but I'll add the setup file soon.
The setup also have been updated too.

It is now officially released, and it's a major update too.

I have now added a new tab in the "dock settings" menu.
It's called "ShaderEffects" and will use the graphics card to add some effects to icons when you enter one.

There is also another option in the "general tab" which allow to set new behavior to SliderDock when unhidding it.
For example it is now possible to make SldierDock appear right under your mouse.

And I finally fixed the icons being cut when SliderDock size is changed.
This happened due to some screen having different DPI and c#3.5 trying to be DPI independent.
That's also why most user never got this bug.

there's some new icon background too and a lot more.
To know all the changes you can go to the change log page like always.

Another release again.
This one fix a bug where the icon background coulnd't be found when SliderDock start with at windows launch.
For some reason in R12 the relative path returned "c:\windows\system32\images\my image" instead of "c:\program files\sliderdock\images\my image".

I also released a zip version of the application which doesn't need any installation.
In this you will find all the needed files to run SliderDock and portable mode is already selected by default.
So if you unzip it on a memory stick, no files will be created on the computer.

I've released a new version that is a fix for the R10 bug that happens on xp.

The bug was cause by relative path that return something like :
"C:\Program Files\SliderDockImages\iconsBackground\dotHackGUwhitePattern.png"
instead of :
"C:\Program Files\SliderDock\Images\iconsBackground\dotHackGUwhitePattern.png"

note the lack of '\' between SliderDock and Images

I didn't pick up this bug earlier because windows 7 returned the path correctly.
Sorry for the inconvenience but now everything should work fine.

Due to this bug, some file might have been created that are unnecessary.
if you wish to delete those files, you should be able to find them here :
C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\Local Settingsit should be a folder called :
"Application DataSliderDock"

The main feature of this release is the lower memory usage.
When visible, SliderDock will use half of the RAM it used before.
It is still a bit high, but this is to keep the application response time.
But when hidden, the memory will drop considerably and can be as low as 1 or 2 MB.

I also added an option to have sliderdock priority set to bellow normal when it is loading.
The reason for this option is because it was reported to me that on some computer, having SliderDock priority changed might freeze the application.

I made this early release because of the speed improvement implemented for the mousewheel.
I think it gives a much better feeling of responsiveness during the rotation.

The second improvement is for icons arguments.
Here is an example of what it is :
If you have a shortcut with a target like :
notepad.exe "C:\Desktop\config.txt"

This shortcut will open the file config.txt in notepad.
The text found after the space is called an argument.

this can be used to launch special folders like my computer, recycle bin, etc…
Here how to do it :

add an icon in SliderDock, right click on it then "icon settings".

In target write : explorer.exe

In arguments write the code for the folder wanted.

Here is a website that list the codes for the special folders in XP :
http://www.autohotkey.com/docs/misc/CLSID-List.htm

and here is the list for vista/7 :
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb762584%28VS.85%29.aspx

Now sliderdock will hide even if the application isn't found.

I had to do this for the targets like explorer.exe to work.

The retrieval of arguments from a shortcut when you drag and drop is still not functional.

In the next Release, I will try to add an option in the right click menu to add those special folder easily.
